Xiaomi Group CEO Lei Jun announced at the launch event for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and Xiaomi SU7 Ultra that Xiaomi's R&D investment is expected to exceed 24 billion yuan in 2024 and reach 30 billion yuan in 2025. Approximately a quarter of the 2025 R&D budget will be allocated to AI and related businesses. Lei Jun also stated that the projected R&D investment will reach 105 billion yuan over the next five years.

Xiaomi's upcoming Xiaomi 15 series smartphones will no longer offer an 8GB RAM version, instead, the base model's RAM configuration will start at 12GB, with a projected price increase. Xiaomi representative Wang Teng noted that future flagship models are likely to eliminate the 8GB RAM option due to the higher memory demands of on-device AI models. He suggested that as AI technology becomes more widespread in smartphones, users should opt for higher RAM versions whenever financial conditions permit. He also advised consumers to be aware of the pricing differences of RAM across different brands.

Lei Jun, founder of Xiaomi, announced on social media that the international version of Xiaomi's flagship device will integrate Google's AI large model Google Gemini, aiming to provide a smarter and more intuitive user experience. Google Gemini is an advanced multimodal AI model developed by Google that can recognize, understand, and process various types of information.

Xiaomi is set to unveil its latest flagship smartphone series, the Xiaomi 15 Series, in October. This series will be the first to come pre-installed with the next-generation Surge OS 2.0 operating system. The new system will focus on all-scenario intelligence and cross-platform connectivity, marking Xiaomi's full transition to an AI-driven system experience rather than just integrating AI features into applications.
